Skyuka Spring Fellowship Registration

Registration Has Ended

Registration for the Skyuka Lodge Spring Fellowship has ended.

This is an important event for the lodge in that we help ready Camp Bob Hardin for the hundreds of campers that will be visiting our camp in the coming weeks.  We will also elect new officers for each chapter and for the lodge itself.

Any ordeal candidate that did not particiapte in the ordeal weekend last year should come to this event to start their journey in our Order.  Otherwise they will have to be re-elected into the order by their peers.  Ordeal candidates might find this page helpful.  If you are an Ordeal candidate, please be sure to eat a good meal before arriving at camp on Friday night and please don’t pre-order a steak from the lodge as you’ll be unable to cook it before your adventure begins on Friday night.

Any existing Ordeal member that became an Ordeal member of the lodge at last year’s Summer Ordeal (or before) is elegible to work toward Brotherhood status.  You might find this site helpful.  You should also know how to sing the Order of the Arrow song found HERE.

Breaking News: Website Scores Incorrect – Skyuka Wins 1st Place For Website

It was announced this morning that somehow the scores from a previous Dixie Fellowship were used to determine the best website in SR-5 at the 2012 Dixie Fellowship.  After rechecking the scores (which is common practice before the final scores are posted), it was determined that Skyuka Lodge actually won 1st place for best website in the section!  Congratulations to Media Chairman, Britt Helms, Jr. and his advisor Britt Helms, Sr.
 
This gives Skyuka an additional 5 points toward Lodge of the Year, so we’ll have to wait and see if this correction tilts the Lodge of the Year scoring in Skyuka’s favor.  Lets keep our fingers crossed!

Scouting For A Cure – Relay For Life of Wofford College


Come join Skyuka brothers as we raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

We will be meeting at Wofford College from 6PM – Midnight (429 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303).

We will walk, fellowship, and fundraise for the American Cancer Society. This will be our 2012 One Day of Service Project.

Last year we raised over $750 for the American Cancer Society. Let’s have another strong year in 2012!

Spring Fellowship Registration Begins May 1st, 2012

Registration for Skyuka Lodge’s Spring Fellowship will be coming online with our new event registration system on May 1st, 2012.  With the new registration system, all attendees must register using the online system, even if paying by check mailed to the Palmetto Council office.  This will be a great help to centralize the registration process for our lodge secretary as he works to get attendees signed in at the event as well as for the chapters buying food for the event.

If you know any scouts or scouters who were unable to attend the Summer Ordeal in 2011, make sure that they are aware of this fellowship as it will be there last opportunity to gain membership in the Order without having to be re-elected.  Also, if you know of any Ordeal members who are eligible for Brotherhood, be sure to make them aware of the upcoming event as well.

We look forward to seeing you all at Skyuka Lodge’s Spring Fellowship on May 18th-20th, 2012 at Camp Bob Hardin.

Lodge Games Registration

Now is the time to register to attend the 2012 Skyuka Lodge Games at Camp Bob Hardin on March 23-25th, 2012.

Skyuka Lodge Games event is a great opportunity to find those arrowmen among us who have the right combination of luck and skill to head up each of the events  that we’ll face in April at the 2012 Dixie Fellowship.

Skyuka Awarded “Quality Lodge” for 6th Year In A Row!

Congratulations Skyuka Brothers!

We just got the good word that for the 6th year in a row, Skyuka Lodge was awarded “Quality Lodge” for 2011.  When you look back at our accomplishments in the past year, it really shouldn’t be a surprise.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that it is a “given” though.   Only about half of the lodges in SR-5 were awarded quality lodge this past year.

With the Dixie Fellowship right around the corner, getting the quality lodge designation is a big deal – since it is a requirement for being considered for the SR-5 Lodge of the Year award.

Skyuka Lodge Awards Banquet

The 2012 Skyuka Lodge Banquet will be hosted by the Lancaster Chapter and held at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 on February 4th, 2012. Feel free to arrive prior to 6pm if you wish, though dinner will actually begin around 6pm.

Our guest speaker this year is somewhat of a mystery, as our host chapter has been advised not to release the name of the speaker – even to our trusted brothers.

Purchased tickets will be held in your name at the door on the night of the event.
